I haven't been in K-mart in years, but I took my mother over there a few weeks ago on her search for a pair of coral colored jeans. While she scoured the racks, I wandered to the back of the store where I found several racks of women's clothes on clearance for $2.99! There were actually some pretty good finds. I walked away with a few basics including this black vest by Apostrophe. Another great find are these red ankle pants by Apt. 9. Initially I ordered a pair in dark purple. You have a lot of outfits that include ankle pants. I always wear a bootcut or straight leg. Do you think an ankle pant flatters most shapes?
ReplyDeleteAs a pear shape, I used to prefer bootcut pants because they balance out my hips, but I like wearing ankle pants because they are great for showing off cute shoes!
ReplyDeleteI think ankle pants will work for any shape if you do the correct things to draw the eye away from problem areas and pair them with tops that balance out the figure.
Most ankle pants tend to be a bit narrow though the hips so there are a few things I do to make sure they are flattering on my pear shape: First, I make sure to get the proper fit. If you are ordering pants online make sure you know your measurements and read the size charts carefully. Enlist a tailor to do any needed alterations. I try to avoid ankle pants with diagonal side pockets. I prefer an ankle pant with no pockets or a rounded pocket for a more flattering fit.
I also make sure the tops I wear never hit me at the widest part of my hips. This makes me look more proportional. Finally, if I am wearing an ankle pant that is a bit loose I will wear a more fitted top, and if I am wearing a more fitted ankle pant I will choose a top that more "flowy". I also like to wear blazers with my ankle pants because they make them more flattering by hiding the widest part of my hips. Hope these tips help, and thanks for reading! :)
