Cils Booster XL & L'Oreal Voluminous False Fibre Lashes Mascara |
I wasn't looking to add another step to my makeup routine, but I heard that the right mascara primer
is what makes all the difference. Based on all of the great reviews out there, I decided to give Lancome Cils Booster XL a shot to see if it lived up to the hype.
Cils Booster XL is a mascara base/primer that contains microfibers to add
volume and length to lashes.
Primadonna Tip: Want to try a new beauty product but don't want to pay for for a full size product in case it doesn't work for you? Check ebay for sample and travel sizes to get the best deal possible on high end makeup.
Before Application: Nothing on lashes at all. |
Cils Booster XL Applied to Top Lashes.
Application Observations: Went on easily; Not sticky or gooey.
Leaves a fine white coating on lashes.
Detangled my wayward lashes considerably.
Maybe I was expecting something extremely dramatic, but after applying Cils Booster XL for the first time, I was unimpressed. I thought that my lashes looked pretty much the same. After using the product for a few days I changed my mind. I felt the product did give my lashes a longer more separated appearance.
Now it was time to add my mascara. To give it a little extra kick I chose L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes, in Black Laquer. This is another product that promises to amp up the volume and length of lashes with the addition of microfibers. You can actually see little fibers stuck on the applicator wand as you apply the product.

Primadonna Tip: Don't let the primer dry before applying your mascara! Apply primer to both top lid lashes and immediately follow with mascara. Then apply primer to both bottom lid lashes and immediately apply mascara. Waiting to long can make the primer dry and the mascara will not glide as smoothly onto the lashes; a definite recipe for clumping.
Observations After Mascara Application: L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes, (though it gives awesome volume) tends to go on a bit clumpy, but with the addition of the primer, it glided onto my eyelashes with little to no clumping.
This mascara also flakes a bit throughout the day, but with the addition of the primer there was no flaking.
My Mascara came off easily with makeup remover wipes and bit of coconut oil, and no lashes fell out.
Final Thoughts: Lancome Cils Booster XL mascara base stopped L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara from clumping and flaking. It separates and detangles my wild lashes, making them appear a little longer. This product does not make my lashes feel hard and brittle, but softer. I think this one is a keeper and worth the extra step.
What do you think? Did Lancome's Cils Booster XL give my lashes a boost?
