At the Store: Altuzarra for Target

I got up early yesterday morning rarin' to get to Target for their latest designer collaboration; Altuzarra for Target.  If you checked out my picks last week, then you know a few pieces caught my eye, and I couldn't wait to try them on.

My local Target opened at 8 a.m. I pulled up at 8:01 a.m. and walked through the doors at 8:03, only to find that most of the pieces from my "picks" list weren't even available at that location.  The only two things they did have from my picks list was the Wrap Dress in red, and the Ankle Boot in Black.  I hurried to the wrap dress to grab my size, only to see that there were only two on the rack; neither of them my size. I was told by a sales associate that there had been a line outside of the store when they opened, and there were a number of women in the dressing room trying on pieces. Disappointed, I grabbed a few of the pieces they did have, (even though some weren't in my size) headed to the dressing room, and hoped for the best.

Here are a few pieces I tried on.

Embroidered Dress in Black Swiss Dot, $54.99
This one was a just a bit too loose, and much too frumpy. Someone had already taken the size down, but it didn't really matter because I didn't like it anyway. It probably would have looked better styled with the belt from the collection, but all of those were gone too!

Dress in Banker Stripe/Python Print, $49.99
Meh... this one was just okay to me.  Fit everywhere pretty well except in my hips.
I think sizing up and then getting alterations would be the only way to go.
I didn't like it enough to go through all of that though.

Structured Dress with Crane Embroidery, $49.99
I'm in between a size four and six. I needed the six in this one, but I guess one of the early birds already had gotten to it.

Trench Coat in Black Jacquard, $89.99
I ran into a lady in the fitting room area who had three trench coats. She was wearing the small (and looking quite nice in it I might add), and holding a medium and XL. She asked if I needed one. I told her I needed the small, but since she would be purchasing that one I would try on the medium just to see how it looked. She told me the only other small had already been snatched up by another lady who was in the fitting room as well.

Dress in Purple Orchid Print, $49.99
This dress didn't excite me in the lookbook, and I didn't feel any differently once I tried it on.

Sweater with Crane Embroidery, $49.99Pencil Skirt in Black Jacquard, $34.99
These pieces were cute. Definitely the winners out of everything I tried on, but l I didn't love them enough to purchase.

Bow Blouse in Python Print, $34.99Pencil Skirt in Python Print, $34.99

Maxi Dress in Black Orchid Print, $69.99

After all this trying on I was frustrated because there was nothing I really loved.
Anything I remotely interested in, my size had already been snatched up at 8 a.m.

Then there was the shoes...

The only shoe in the collection that arrived at this store was the ankle boot.  Maybe I was in a bad mood after trying on clothes, I don't know, but though they had my size, I just wasn't interested anymore.  I decided not to purchase those either.

I went home and checked online for a few of the pieces I was interested in, but they were already sold out.  After all the hype, I ended up not purchasing anything from the Altuzarra for Target Collection.

    1. Thanks! I checked out your review. You look great in that slinky swiss dot maxi dress. Too bad they didn't have that one at my store. And you had the over the knee boots at your store too! So jealous... ;) I'm doing the online thing next time.
