Shopping My Closet: Paisley Print & Peep Toe Pumps

  I've been trying to avoid shopping for the last month, so when I was invited to attend a bridal shower I decided to shop my closet and choose a paisley print cap sleeve dress that I've had for awhile. I like this dress because It's easy to wear year round. With tights in fall, leggings, in winter, or a white blazer in spring; it's very versatile.

My Second sheinside.com Order: Zebra Print Coat

After ordering a leopard print coat from sheinside.com (click here if you missed that), I decided to  give it another try, and order a zebra print coat. This time I went with a size small, and it fit true to size without any alterations. Just like the leopard print coat from my first order, I wouldn't call it a "coat. The fabric is more light jacket or blazer weight, making it a good choice for fall or spring.  Since I was expecting it to be more of a topper rather than a coat based on my last experience I was pretty pleased this time around. 

It's spring so why not slip into something yellow? Pair it with black and white for maximum impact! Make sure to skip the black shoes and go for a nude heel.

A tassel necklace is a  must have this spring and the great thing is that you can find them at every price point!

Date Night (It's Our Anniversary)

Spring is my favorite season, which is why when I got married I chose an April wedding. This year with our anniversary falling on a workday, we decided to keep it simple with dinner and a movie. With such great weather, I was ready to pull out the Peter Pilotto for Target Skirt I've been looking forward to wearing for some months now.

I have this REALLY long necklace that I decided to try something new with.  I wrapped it around my neck and clasped it to the front. Hey, what can I say? It's the artist in me ;) This little experiment has inspired me to start working on finding jewelry pieces that can be layered.

The pleated details in this blouse echo the pleated wrap detail in the skirt.

Photo Journal: My Evening Skincare Routine

The battle against acne is real!  Check out my evening routine, and see how I work to keep blemishes at bay.  It takes awhile, so it helps to start earlier in the evening...

Step 1.  Remove Makeup 

 I  use Viva Paper Towels because they are strong, but still feel nice and soft on my skin. (Buy them in bulk if you want to save a little money.) I fold the paper towel twice and saturate it with warm water before adding the coconut oil.

I use Dr. Adorable's  Organic Pure Coconut OIL (76 Degree).
This oil turns solid at 76 degrees so each night I sit it in hot water for a few minutes for it to melt. ( I tried using the microwave a few times, but as you can see from my warped bottle, that was a bad idea, so I went back to the hot water method.)

Step 2: Rinse off and remnants of makeup 

and coconut oil with a gentle cleanser.

Lately, I've been using Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser for this step.

Step 3: Time to kill bacterial and exfoliate!

I start out by applying Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Antibacterial Bar to damp skin.

I add baking soda before exfoliating 

with a Clarisonic PRO Sonic Skin Cleansing Brush. 

*I wouldn't recommend this step for those with very sensitive skin.  You can exfoliate with baking soda once a week without using a brush or use a brush several times a week to allow your skin to adjust to this method.

Step 4:  Now I apply a honey and aloe mask to fight blemishes, soothe, and moisturize the skin.  

I'm a HUGE fan of Wedderspoon Gold Raw Organic Manuka Honey Active 16+  (click here to see how it helped to clear my skin.) 

Manuka honey is expensive, so I also  use a lower cost alternative; Wedderspoon Gold 100% Raw Organic Dandelion Honey.  Research has shown dandelions are effective in fighting pimples, so this is another great choice for those battling acne.  

I mix the honey with Aloe life Skin Gel  and apply the mixture to my face.

The longer the honey and aloe mask stays on the better, so if you start this process earlier in the evening, you can wear the mask until you are ready for bed.  If you are short on time, try to keep the mask on at least twenty minutes.

Step 5: Moisturize
I'm using a 50/50 mix of Triple Refined Australian Emu Oil by Dr. Adorable  and Tamanu / Foraha Organic Oil . I combine the two oils in a Amber Boston Round Glass Bottle w/dropper.

Evening skincare routine complete.
