Today's makeup look is a classic soft smokey eye 

with a bold matte red lip.

The packaging of this palette has a few handy tips for creating a smokey eye look if you aren't sure where to start. While I like that the NYX For Your Eyes Only Smokey Eye Palette  has a variety of gray tones to play with, I found these shadows to be very powdery. The softness made them easy to blend but hard to build color.

 I recommend using this one with a primer and cream based eyeshadow to get better color payoff.

I really like Milani's new matte Spring 2015 lipstick collection. This "moisture matte" formula is currently one of my favorites because it doesn't dry out my lips some of my other matte lipsticks. You can find these at select Walgreens locations and online.
