With the current liquid matte trend going strong, it's great to get another option on the market at a lower price point than some of the other popular liquid mattes. I love me some L.A. Girl Pro Concealer, and I'm all about a matte lip, so I was interested to see how these performed.
I must admit I wanted the entire set of sixteen, but I wasn't sure I would like them. I decided to place an order for six.
I ordered (from left to right):
Frisky- bright red
Timeless- pink with blue undertone
Rebel- plum
Stunner- bright violet
Fleur- peachy pink
Dreamy- soft pink
Swatches
First Impressions:
The container is wider than I thought it would be. (0.17 oz)
Here's a picture so you can see the size of the
L.A. Girl Matte Pigment Gloss in comparison to a few other liquid matte products out there:
From left to right:
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, Lime Crime Velvetine, Coloured Raine Lip Paint, LA Splash Studio Shine Lip Lustre, LA Splash Smitten Liptint, & LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss
I like the wide tube. It makes it easy to handle and easy to find in my purse!
I tried on all the colors as soon as they arrived and loved them all! They went on smooth, they are build-able, and dry to a nice matte finish.
I noticed that L.A. Girl's Matte Pigment Gloss feels comfortable on my lips after it dries matte. It doesn't feel sticky, tight, or dry, like the L.A. Splash liquid lipstick products. It also didn't emphasize lip wrinkles.
The matte finish is not as velvety as Lime Crime Velvetine Liquid Matte Lipstick, or as soft in appearance as NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream.
I took a nap and woke up with my lip color still perfectly in tact. I ate dinner and drank a large bottle of water, and surprisingly the lip color was still in place. It lasts much longer on my lips though eating and drinking than Lime Crime Velvetine Liquid Matte Lipstick and Coloured Raine Lip Paints. The matte pigment gloss didn't come off until I removed it with petroleum jelly and a moist towel.
Final Thoughts: I will be ordering more colors!
