I initially tested out these new matte lippies by placing an order for six shades. (Click here if you missed my first review with swatches). I loved them all, so as promised in my last review, I placed another order. Though there are sixteen shades total, there are a few colors that I'm not very interested in, so I decided to just order another six.
L.A. Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss: Bazaar, Playful, Obsess, Secret, Backstage, Black Currant |
Swatches
Black Currant, a deep violet, is my least favorite. It goes on patchy and is hard to get an even coat.
Backstage and Secret are somewhat similar, but Backstage is slightly darker. Backstage reminds me of NYX Copenhagen; a deep matte plum. I will have to swatch the two of them together one day to see if they are truly similar.
Secret is a nice deep red color that reminds me of Wet N Wild Cherry Bomb.
Obsess, a red-orange, is my favorite of the bunch. I don't have anything like this in my collection, and it is a great bright color for Spring and Summer.
Playful is a fun bubble gum pink. This one looks similar to Jordanna's Matte Adorable lippie.
I expected Bazaar to be more of a peach color but it turned out to be more of a muted pink when I applied it to my lips.
I prefer the colors I chose in my initial order, but I'm still happy with adding these new shades to my collection. I have been wearing these lippies almost every day now. Lip liner is a must because they do feather, but I still find them to be long wearing. Don't forget to check out my inital review and swatches if you missed it.
